Description: This three-level, five-building retirement community in Tacoma contains 142 resident apartments and was constructed in 1987 by another contractor. Within two years after construction was completed, severe water damage was discovered within the exterior walls. After extensive investigation, the walls were completely rebuilt from finished siding to the wood-framed structure while the building was occupied. The repair work cost $950,000 and was completed in the summer of 1990.
